Feet have a direct impact on the rest of our body and when a small problem develops in your feet, the subtle change in the way you walk will cause a chain reaction of adjustments in your posture and walking mechanics. Custom orthotics help to rebalance your feet, reducing pain and discomfort by enhancing your body's natural movements. Through a partnership with The Orthotic Group, Dr. Kippel offers custom foot orthotics. He will asses your needs, fit you for the orthotics, and within a few weeks you'll receive the custom pair.
What are Prescription Orthotics?
Prescription orthotics look like insoles, but are biomechanical medical appliances made just for you. Orthotics work on your feet much like glasses work on your eyes-they reduce stress and strain on your body by brining your feet back into proper alignment. Orthotics fit into your shoes as comfortably as an insole, but made from the precise imprints of your feet.
How do I know if I'd benefit?
You can discuss orthotics with Dr. Kippel at your next Chiro appointment. The symptoms of poor foot mechanics can include any of the following:
-localized foot pain
-bunions/hammer toes
-arch/heel pain
-leg/knee pain
-hip, back or even neck pain
How much do they cost?
$395 per pair.
(Orthotics should be replaces about every 2 years. Most benefit plans cover a pair of orthotics every 2 years because of how much it helps other conditions. Contact your insurance provider for info about your particular scenario)
How long does it take?
The fitting appointment only takes about 10 min and can be done as part of a regular Chiropractic adjustment. There is no pain or goop involved. After that we send the molds of your feet to The Orthotic Group, and shipping delays not withstanding, you can expect to come pick up your Orthotics from us about 3 weeks later.
You can learn more a The Orthotic Group website or by contacting our office.
